The North Floyd Adult and Family Learning Center conducts new student registration

The North Floyd Adult and Family Learning Center, located at Glenwood Primary near Mount Berry Square Mall, will conduct new student intake and orientation for the first session of the school year on August 11, 12, and/or 13 at 9:00 a.m. This center is a joint project of Coosa Valley Technical College and the Floyd County Schools, and provides adult basic education and instruction for the General Educational Development (GED) Test for high school equivalency. Adults who are 18 years of age and older and out of school may register for free classes; 16 and 17 year olds should inquire about necessary permissions required for underage youth.

The center has been expanded this year to enroll more adults. Classes and computer-assisted instruction allow learners to enter the program at their current instructional level and progress at a comfortable pace through the levels of learning. All instructional materials and access to computers are provided to every learner. Special services are provided to support learners who are also parents of school children to help their children succeed in school.

For information, or to register for new student intake and orientation at the North Floyd Adult and Family Learning Center at Glenwood, call Coosa Valley Technical College Adult Learning Center at 706-295-6917. Interested adults should consider which Adult Learning Center opportunity is nearer their residence.
