LANGUAGE AND LITERACY CENTER OPEN HOUSE

The Language and Literacy Center at the Rome-Floyd Library will hold an Open House on Monday, September 8, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. for prospective literacy volunteer tutors AND for adults who would like to learn more about how they can improve their reading skills. The public is invited to come and meet the staff, enjoy light refreshments, and tour the facility located on the second floor of the library. Adult learners and their tutors work together regularly at the library in a coordinated program of instruction designed to accomplish personal reading goals.

September 8 is observed every year as International Literacy Day, and has been so proclaimed for Georgia by Governor Sonny Perdue.
