HON Donates $150,000 to CVTC’s Education For Work Campaign
The HON Company recently made a $150,000 donation to the Coosa Valley Technical College (CVTC) Foundation’s Education For Work campaign.
CVTC Foundation’s Education For Work campaign is a five year investment plan designed to enhance economic development through workforce education in Floyd, Gordon, and Polk counties. Thanks to donations from The HON Company, and other local and international businesses and industries, local governments, healthcare organizations, and privately owned small businesses, the campaign has raised $2,524,283.00.
“Donations like the one from The HON Company are the only way that we can grow the college,” stated Dr. Craig McDaniel, President, Coosa Valley Technical College. “I think it’s an indication of the partnership that we’ve been able to build, a partnership that is mutually beneficial. CVTC provides training for HON and HON supports Coosa Valley Technical College with advice, guidance, and financial support. It’s just a great relationship.”

A key point in our vision statement is ‘We will be a responsible corporate citizen’ and this contribution is reflective of that. Coosa Valley Technical College’s Foundation was created in 1989 to allow the college to be responsive to the needs of the community and economy. The main functions of CVTC’s Foundation are to provide financial assistance to students, fund equipment purchases, assist in marketing and public relations efforts, and help provide funding for new programs. A 501(c) (3) corporation, the Foundation provides a way for services to be delivered when state and federal resources are not available.
