CVTC’s Bruins First Game This Saturday

Coosa Valley Technical College (CVTC) Men’s Basketball program will host Northwestern Technical College in their inaugural game this Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the Pepperell High School Gym, 3 Dragon Drive, Lindale, Georgia. The CVTC Bruins will tip off at 1:00 p.m. and the game is free to the public.

“We appreciate the support of the Floyd County School System and the use of the new Pepperell High School gymnasium. Principal Ray and the Pepperell staff are great partners of CVTC and we look forward to our basketball team calling Pepperell home this season,” said Dr. Steve Bradshaw, Vice President of Student Services, Coosa Valley Technical College.

“We are very pleased to be able to cooperate with Coosa Valley as they prepare to host their first basketball game,” stated Phil Ray, Principal, Pepperell High School. “Coosa Valley is a valuable business partner for Pepperell High and we are delighted that we can contribute in some small way to help their inaugural season be a success. Dr. McDaniel and his staff were always accommodating during our two years of construction and hosted many events for us. We are fortunate that we now have a facility to share. The collaboration between CVTC and the Floyd County School System, in the development of our new Charter School, is additional evidence of what can be accomplished in a community when there is teamwork.”

Along with the generosity of Pepperell High School and the Floyd County School System, CVTC has received support from the YMCA and Rome Coca Cola.

CVTC will compete against three other technical colleges in a 12 game schedule that will run from January 12, 2008 until March 15, 2008. The four team league includes CVTC, Griffin Technical College, Northwestern Technical College, and West Central Technical College.
