Barnes Named Vice President of Administrative Services for CVTC
Dr. Craig McDaniel, President, Coosa Valley Technical College (CVTC), announced Kelly Barnes as the Vice President of Administrative Services for CVTC. Barnes will succeed Terry Williamson, who will retire May 31, 2008.
“Kelly has done an outstanding job for Coosa Valley Technical College for a number of years and will continue to provide good leadership in managing the finances of the school,” stated McDaniel.
Barnes received her bachelor of science degree in accounting from Berry College and master of business administrative degree from Kennesaw State University.
Barnes joined the college in 1997 as an accounting technician and was promoted to accountant in 1998. Barnes became the accounting coordinator in 2005 and soon after was promoted to director of administrative services. Barnes has also served CVTC as an adjunct math instructor.
As Vice President of Administrative Services, Barnes will be responsible for the college’s departments of accounting, budgeting, human resources, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, revenue, asset management, building and ground maintenance, security, bookstore, and food services.
While with CVTC, Barnes has completed the Governmental Accounting series with Carl Vinson Institute of Government, supervisory training with the Georgia Leadership Institute, and is currently attending mid-manager training with the Georgia Leadership Institute.
Barnes is a member of the Exchange Club of Rome, and is on the board of directors and the supervisory committee for Northwest Georgia Credit Union.
